Taliban militant who shot Malala claims to have escaped from jail.

TThe Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan, has released an audio clip on social media in which he claims to have escaped from jail almost a month ago The Taliban militant who shot the Nobel peace prizewinner Malala Yousafzai in the head has escaped from jail in Pakistan, according to a recording released on social media.

Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman with the Pakistani Taliban who boarded Ms Yousafzai’s school bus and shot her in 2012, issued the audio clip claiming that he had escaped custody almost a month ago and that Pakistan’s powerful military had not kept promises made to him when he surrendered in 2017.

“With the help of God, I managed to escape on January 11, 2020 from the confinement of the security forces,” he said, adding that he would expose further details of his imprisonment in the coming days. Malala Yousufzai was transferred to a hospital in Birmingham after she was shot on her way home from school in Pakistan when she was 15 year old.
